Associative learning is a crucial process that allows organisms to anticipate future events and prepare for the optimal outcome. The striatum has been shown to be an important structure of integrating sensorimotor information and controlling voluntary action. My research aims to investigate how dopamine and acetylcholine systems collaborate in the ventral striatum to support associative learning. By combining advanced fibre photometry and sophisticated experimental protocols, my work seeks to understand both neural and behavioural consequences of this dynamic neuromodulation.
