My research investigates the psychological and biological processes that drive compulsive behaviour. Taking a dimensional approach, I use animal models to probe the role of specific neuronal circuits and cell populations in different behavioural expressions of compulsivity. In line with a broader interest in improving the translation of preclinical research to clinical practice, I hope to develop a dimensional framework that clearly delineates different forms of compulsive behaviour based on their underlying mechanisms.
